Choosing the best solution. This is the culmination of many steps of hard work. If we do our jobs right, we can often be the pivotal voice in this step, helping argue for the best overall solution —we can visualize the case, see different sides of the problem, and lay out a path for making a commitment to a given solution.

STEP BACKGROUND In a special exhibition at the 2003 Paris International
Furniture Fair, leading graphic designers were paired with
leading furniture designers. Each graphic designer was to
interpret the assigned furniture as a visual experience. STEP OUTCOME The green light was given to the most ambitious configuration
of four projectors and an enclosed staging area for two
hanging chairs. Specifications were sent to Paris in drawing
form with general instructions.
The final built piece bore a significant difference to the
surrounding pieces due to the unorthodox use of visuals,
projections and physical disruption.
