Choosing the best solution. This is the culmination of many steps of hard work. If we do our jobs right, we can often be the pivotal voice in this step, helping argue for the best overall solution —we can visualize the case, see different sides of the problem, and lay out a path for making a commitment to a given solution.

STEP BACKGROUND It was at this phase that the client and the design team began to test the
usability of the new brand identity. Working closely, the assembled teams
were able to meet Steinberg’s original project goals and give her more
than she had ever imagined. STEP OUTCOME The I-Ching concept generated the expansion of a style-applied solution. This
opened up limitless possibilities for patterns and textures created by repeating
and composing this imagery. These images were such an inspiration to Steinberg
and her product designers, they decided to use them as decorative graphics
on new products. A new stationery system was also created using the new system.
At this point, additional graphic design services were needed for other Via
Motif product lines. Line Lights are traditional Christmas string-lights with
beautiful themed “shades” over each light. Via Motif produces over
20 varieties. VDO designed a new logo and product packaging concepts for two
different sizes.
